Helping former Jehovah’s Witnesses and other cult survivors rebuild their lives with hope, healing, and freedom.
At New Light Rising, we believe healing and rebuilding after leaving a high-control group begins with community, education, and access to practical tools.
Below are the programs and services available now and a preview of what’s coming as we grow!
You’re not alone. Our volunteers provide one-on-one peer support via email or scheduled virtual sessions. We listen, share recovery tools, and help connect you with trusted local and national resources for housing, mental health, education, and employment, and more.
Knowledge is power. We curate trusted videos, articles, and social media resources that explore recovery from religious trauma and rebuilding life after leaving high-control groups. Follow our social channels or visit our “YouTube University” for continuous learning and encouragement.
Healing happens together. Join our free online support groups and virtual and in-person gatherings to share your journey, find understanding, and build healthy community outside of control and fear. Stay connected via our newsletter for survivor stories, new resources, and upcoming events.
Small, need-based grants or no-interest loans to help with immediate essentials such as housing deposits, food, or transportation.
Funding assistance for trauma-informed counseling sessions with professionals who understand religious and emotional recovery.
Helping survivors rebuild through education, certification programs, and job readiness training.
Our long-term vision includes a resource hub app, a safe space for workshops, peer mentoring, retreats, and community events.
